🔥 Cook Time: Approximately 2–3 hours on LOW, plus reducing the sauce
🍽 Servings: 4
🛒 Ingredients
- 2 lb (900 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into equal 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes
- 1 cup (240 ml) fresh orange juice
- ½ cup (120 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, grated into a smooth paste
- ⅓ cup (80 ml / 113 g) honey
For serving: - Cooked white rice
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ ADD THE CHICKEN
Cut the chicken thighs into evenly sized cubes and place them in the slow cooker.
2️⃣ ADD THE ORANGE JUICE
Pour the fresh orange juice over and around the chicken.
3️⃣ ADD THE SOY SAUCE
Pour the low-sodium soy sauce evenly over the chicken.
4️⃣ ADD THE GARLIC
Add the smooth garlic paste.
5️⃣ ADD THE HONEY
Drizzle the honey over everything, then gently stir to combine.
6️⃣ SLOW COOK
Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 2–3 hours, until the largest chicken pieces reach at least 165°F (74°C). Cooking time varies by slow cooker and piece size.
7️⃣ REDUCE THE GLAZE
Remove the cooked chicken with a slotted spoon and keep warm. Strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer briskly, stirring regularly, until glossy and thick enough to coat a spoon while remaining pourable.
8️⃣ COAT AND SERVE
Return the chicken to the reduced sauce and gently toss until every piece is coated. Serve over warm white rice with a little extra glaze spooned over the top.
💡 Tip:
Keep the chicken pieces evenly sized and toss them gently after cooking to preserve their neat shape.
