- 1 lb (450 g) fully cooked kielbasa, sliced into rounds
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 2½ cups (280 g) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 298 g) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp onion powder
👩🍳 Instructions
- ADD THE POTATOES
Place the frozen diced hash browns evenly in the slow cooker. - ADD THE KIELBASA
Add the sliced kielbasa over the potatoes. - ADD THE ONION
Sprinkle the diced onion evenly over everything. - ADD THE CHEESE
Add about 2 cups of the shredded cheddar, reserving the remaining cheese for the top. - MAKE THE CREAMY MIXTURE
In a separate bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, milk, melted butter, black pepper, and onion powder until smooth. - ADD THE SAUCE
Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the potatoes and kielbasa.
Gently combine everything until evenly coated.
- SLOW COOK
Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for about 3 hours, until the potatoes are tender and the casserole is hot and creamy. - ADD THE FINAL CHEESE
Sprinkle the remaining cheddar evenly over the top.
Cover again for about 10–15 minutes, just until the cheese is completely melted.
- SERVE
Serve hot while creamy and cheesy.
💡 TIP:
Keep the kielbasa slices fairly thick so they stay juicy and clearly visible in the finished casserole.
