🍗🍯✨ Slow Cooker Sticky Glazed Chicken Thighs
Juicy chicken thighs coated in a thick, glossy honey-barbecue glaze and served with golden French fries. Just four main ingredients!
⏱️ Prep Time: 10 minutes
🔥 Cook Time: Approximately 4–5 hours on LOW or 3 hours on HIGH, plus reducing the sauce and a brief broil
🍽 Servings: 4–6
🛒 Ingredients
- 3 lb (1.36 kg) bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs, thawed and patted dry
- 1 cup (240 ml) barbecue sauce
- ½ cup (120 ml) honey
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
For serving: - Golden French fries, cooked separately
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ ADD THE CHICKEN
Arrange the chicken thighs in a 6-quart slow cooker, skin-side up, with slight overlap if needed.
2️⃣ ADD THE BARBECUE SAUCE
Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the thighs.
3️⃣ ADD THE HONEY
Drizzle the honey over the chicken and barbecue sauce.
4️⃣ ADD THE SOY SAUCE
Pour in the soy sauce. Gently spoon the sauces over the thighs to coat them, keeping the skin facing upward.
5️⃣ SLOW COOK
Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 4–5 hours or HIGH for about 3 hours, until tender and the thickest part reaches at least 165°F (74°C), measured without touching the bone. Cooking time varies by thigh size and slow cooker.
6️⃣ THICKEN THE GLAZE
Carefully transfer the cooked thighs to a foil-lined, broiler-safe metal baking sheet. Pour the cooking sauce into a saucepan and skim off excess surface fat. Bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick enough to coat the chicken.
7️⃣ GLAZE AND BROIL
Brush the thighs generously with the reduced glaze. Broil approximately 6 inches (15 cm) from the heat for 2–4 minutes, until the skin is attractively caramelized and glossy. Watch closely because the sweet glaze browns quickly.
8️⃣ SERVE
Brush with a little more glaze if desired. Serve the thighs intact alongside freshly cooked golden French fries.
💡 Tip:
Lift the cooked thighs gently with a wide spatula to preserve their shape and skin. A well-reduced glaze gives them that rich, sticky finish.
