Ingredients

For the Steak and Shrimp

  • 1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (for searing)

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped (or ½ tsp dried)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak and Shrimp
Pat both the steak and shrimp dry with paper towels. Season each with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Keep them separate.
  2. Sear the Steak
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Add the steak in a single layer (avoid overcrowding) and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add the shrimp. Sear for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and fully cooked. Remove and set aside with the steak.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
Reduce the heat to medium. Add 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet, then stir in the minced garlic.
Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the lemon juice, parsley, and a pinch of red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Combine and Serve
Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet. Toss gently to coat in the garlic butter sauce and cook together for another 1–2 minutes.
Serve hot over mashed potatoes, steamed rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.

Tip: Garnish with extra parsley or a squeeze of lemon for added brightness.
