Ingredients:
- 1 lb penne pasta (or any pasta of your choice)
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 smoked sausages (or Andouille sausage for added spice), sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Brown the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Season the shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until shrimp are pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
4. Sauté the Vegetables
To the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for 4–5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
5. Prepare the Creamy Sauce
Lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually add the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
6. Combine and Toss
Add the cooked pasta, shrimp, and sausage to the skillet. Gently toss everything together until well-coated in the sauce and heated through.
7. Serve and Garnish
Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
Tip: This dish pairs wonderfully with a fresh green salad or warm garlic bread for a complete, indulgent meal.
