Chimichurri Steak Pizza with Asiago and Fresh Mozzarella Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup chimichurri sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Asiago cheese (grated)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh arugula (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven : Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and set up a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  2. Cook the Steak : Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove from heat, let it rest, and then slice it thinly.
  3. Prepare the Pizza Dough : Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to the pizza stone or baking sheet.
  4. Assemble the Pizza : Spread a thin layer of chimichurri sauce over the pizza dough. Add slices of fresh mozzarella and sprinkle Asiago cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Bake the Pizza : Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add the Steak : Remove the pizza from the oven and arrange the thinly sliced steak over the top. Drizzle a bit more chimichurri sauce for extra flavor.
  7. Garnish & Serve : Garnish with fresh arugula (optional) and serve immediately.
