Beef Broccoli with Noodles

This Beef Broccoli with Noodles recipe is a hearty and flavorful take on the classic Asian-inspired dish. Tender strips of beef, crisp-tender broccoli, and savory sauce come together perfectly over a bed of noodles for a quick and satisfying meal that’s perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 large carrot, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz egg noodles or spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Cook the Noodles

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the egg noodles or spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions (about 7–9 minutes).
  3. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth.
  2. Stir until the cornstarch is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth. Set aside.

3. Cook the Beef

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and season lightly with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned and just cooked through.
  3. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables

  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  2. Sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the broccoli and carrot slices. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. If needed, add a splash of water and cover the pan for 1–2 minutes to help steam the vegetables.

5. Combine and Finish

  1. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
  2. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir well to coat everything evenly.
  3. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
  4. Drizzle in the sesame oil and toss to combine.

6. Serve

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet or divide them among plates and spoon the beef and broccoli mixture over the top.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef in 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • Substitute snow peas, bell peppers, or baby corn if you like a more colorful veggie mix.
