Ingredients
- 2 (7.5 oz) cans refrigerated biscuits (see notes)
- 1 (15 oz) jar pizza sauce
- 2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ pound Italian sausage
- 5 oz package pepperoni (about 25 slices)
- 1 cup sliced black olives
- ½ cup diced green bell pepper
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Brown the sausage: In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, cook the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until fully browned. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Prepare the biscuits: Cut each biscuit into quarters and scatter the pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until slightly puffed and golden.
- Layer the toppings: Remove the dish from the oven. Spread the pizza sauce over the baked biscuits. Sprinkle 2 cups of mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the cooked sausage, pepperoni slices, black olives, and green bell pepper. Finish with the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella.
- Bake again: Return the dish to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
- Finish and serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, and serve warm.
Notes
- If using Grands-style biscuits, you’ll only need about 12, as they are larger than standard biscuits.
- You can also use frozen Grands biscuits—just be sure to thaw them completely before using.
- For a fun twist, try making individual mini pizza bakes using a muffin tin instead of a large baking dish.
