Homemade Oreo Ice Cream Recipe
Creamy, Crunchy, and Irresistibly Good!
This no-egg Oreo ice cream is incredibly easy to make and packed with chunks of your favorite chocolate sandwich cookies. With a rich, creamy vanilla base and the perfect crunch from crushed Oreos, it’s sure to become a family favorite.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (473 ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (236 ml) whole milk
- 3/4 cup (149 g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- 20 Oreo cookies, crushed (some large chunks, some fine crumbs)
Instructions:
- Make the Ice Cream Base:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Whisk well until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring to combine. This forms the creamy, flavorful base of your ice cream. - Chill the Mixture:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. A fully chilled base helps the ice cream churn to the perfect creamy consistency. - Prepare the Oreos:
Place the Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag. Using a rolling pin or heavy object, crush them into a mix of large and small chunks. Set aside. - Churn the Ice Cream:
Set up your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure the machine’s bowl is well-frozen if required. Pour the chilled base into the ice cream maker and churn for 20–25 minutes, or until it thickens to a soft-serve consistency. - Add the Crushed Oreos:
Once the base has thickened, slowly add in the crushed cookies and churn for another 5 minutes, allowing them to distribute evenly. - Freeze to Set:
Transfer the soft ice cream to an airtight container. For extra indulgence, layer in more crushed Oreos as you fill the container. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm. - Serve and Enjoy:
Scoop into cones or bowls and top with whipped cream and extra cookie crumbles if desired. Enjoy immediately or store any leftovers in the freezer. Best consumed within a week for optimal freshness.
Tips:
- For a chocolate twist, stir in mini chocolate chips or a fudge swirl.
- Try using different Oreo flavors for fun variations (Golden, Mint, or Birthday Cake!).
