Homemade Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream
Ingredients:
Base:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Cherry Mixture:
1 cup cherry puree (or chopped cherries)
1/2 cup cherry pieces (optional, for texture)
Equipment Needed:
Mixing bowls
Whisk
Ice cream maker
Airtight container for freezing
Instructions:
Prepare the Base:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
Incorporate the Cherries:
Stir in the cherry puree until well blended. If you prefer a chunkier texture, gently fold in the cherry pieces.
Churn the Mixture:
Pour the cherry-cream mixture into your ice cream maker.
Churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20-30 minutes) until the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze:
Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm. For best results, allow it to freeze overnight.
Serve:
Scoop and serve your delicious cherry vanilla ice cream. Garnish with additional cherry pieces or a swirl of cherry sauce, if desired. Enjoy!
Tips:
For a richer flavor, consider using vanilla bean instead of extract.
Use fresh cherries when in season for the best taste.
Allow the ice cream to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping for easier serving.
