Fish Sauce Chicken Wings Recipe
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
3 pounds chicken wings (preferably party wings)
1 3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons aluminum-free baking powder
For the Sauce:
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (from 1 medium lime)
1 tablespoon water
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 red or green bird’s-eye chili, thinly sliced (optional)
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro, divided
For Serving:
1 medium lime, cut into wedges
1/2 cup fried shallots or fried onions (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, mix the chicken wings with kosher salt and baking powder until evenly coated.
Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until crispy and golden, flipping halfway through.
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine fish sauce, honey, lime juice, water, minced garlic, and sliced chili (if using).
Whisk until well blended.
Toss the Wings:
Once the wings are done, place them in a large bowl and pour the sauce over them.
Toss to coat evenly.
Sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
Serve:
Serve the wings hot, garnished with lime wedges and fried shallots or onions if desired.
