Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Ingredients

1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced (optional)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
1/4 cup beef broth (or water)
2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions :

Marinate the Steak:

In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced steak with cornstarch, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
Prepare the Vegetables:

While the steak is marinating, slice the onion and bell peppers. Mince the garlic and ginger.
Cook the Steak:

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a tablespoon of oil (if desired) and then add the marinated steak in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned (you may need to do this in batches). Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, and add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until they are tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and ginger in the last minute of cooking to avoid burning.
Combine Everything:

Return the steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the beef broth and oyster sauce (if using). Stir everything together and cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:

Serve hot over a bed of cooked rice. Enjoy your Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions!

Tips:

You can customize the vegetables to your preference—add snap peas, broccoli, or carrots for extra color and nutrients.
For additional flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes for some heat!

Enjoy your delicious meal!
