Hobo Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
8 oz cheddar cheese, grated
1 (10 oz) can cream of chicken soup
1 (10 oz) can cream of potato soup
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp Creole seasoning
1/3 cup crispy French fried onions
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned beef and onion mixture with the cream of chicken soup, cream of potato soup, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and Creole seasoning. Mix well.
Layer the Casserole:

In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
Spread half of the meat mixture over the potatoes.
Sprinkle with half of the grated cheddar cheese.
Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, meat mixture, and cheese.
Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
Add Crispy Onions: After 1 hour, remove the foil and sprinkle the crispy French fried onions on top. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the potatoes are tender.
Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your hearty Hobo Casserole!
