Homemade Pizza Dough
Ingredients
1 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 tsp yeast
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp Italian seasoning (optional)
4 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Proofing The Yeast
In a bowl add the sugar, ½ cup of warm water and one packet of active dry yeast and stir. This can be done right in the base of a stand mixer or in a separate bowl. Allow the yeast to set for 10 minutes.
Mixing The Pizza Dough
Mix together the flour, salt and Italian seasoning blend (optional) until combined. Add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture. Add 3 tablespoons of the olive oil and an additional ½ cup of warm water on top to the dough mixture.
Start the mixer or food processor with the dough attachment. Mix until the flour combines, about a minute. Turn the speed up on the mixer to medium high and mix for a full five minutes. The dough should pull away from the bowl and be stretchy when you are done
Letting The Dough Rise
Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a heatproof bowl. With a silicone brush, brush the oil in a thin layer all over the inside of the bowl. Transfer the dough to the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Place the dough in a warm place near the stove as it warms up, and allow it to rise for 30 minutes.
Stretching The Dough
Add a light handful of flour to a clean surface your rolling pin, and a sprinkle of flour to the dough. Kneed the dough just a few times by gently stretching the dough, folding it in half and then digging the heels of your hand into the dough. Just a couple of quick kneads will help you start stretching the dough and adding flour if it is too sticky. Then start rolling and streching the dough to use with your favorite recipe.
To Make Pizza
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Oil the pan or add a handful of cornmeal evenly to the pan for a crunchy bottom that doesn’t stick to the pan.
Keep stretching the dough until it is about 12 inches across. If a hole develops, pinch the dough back together gently. Place the dough onto the prepared pan, stretching it to fit.
Topping & Baking
1- Add Your Favorite Sauce – Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
2- Cheese, Please! – Sprinkle mozzarella, parmesan, or your favorite cheese blend generously over the sauce.
3- Customize with Toppings – Add your favorite toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, or olives. Get creative!
4- Final Drizzle – Brush the edges of the crust lightly with olive oil for a golden, crispy finish.
5- Bake to Perfection – Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6- Cool & Serve – Let the pizza sit for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy your homemade pizza masterpiece!

Homemade Doughnuts Recipe
This same dough can be used to make soft, fluffy homemade doughnuts! Just a few extra steps turn this into a delicious treat.
What You’ll Need:
Prepared pizza dough (recipe above)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for coating)
2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
Powdered sugar or glaze (optional for topping)
—
How to Make Doughnuts:
1- Prepare the Dough – After the first rise, transfer the dough to a floured surface. Roll it out to about ½-inch thickness.
2- Cut the Doughnuts – Use a round cutter (or a glass) to cut out doughnut shapes. Use a smaller cutter (or a bottle cap) to make the holes.
3- Let Them Rest – Place the cut doughnuts on a floured surface and cover with a clean towel. Let them rest for 15-20 minutes while you heat the oil.
4- Heat the Oil – In a deep pan, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). To test, drop a small piece of dough in—if it bubbles and rises, it’s ready!
5- Fry to Golden Perfection – Carefully add a few doughnuts at a time, frying for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.
6- Coat or Glaze – While warm, roll in cinnamon sugar, dust with powdered sugar, or dip in a simple vanilla glaze!

Pro Tip: Save the doughnut holes and fry them too—they make perfect bite-sized treats!
