List of ingredients:
About the Chicken:
4 chicken breasts without bones or skin (or thighs)
1 onion, chopped
2 pieces of garlic, finely chopped
3 cups of chicken broth
1 can (10.5 ounces) soup made from chicken
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of dried parsley
1 teaspoon of seasoning for poultry
Add salt and pepper according to your preference.
2 cups of mixed frozen vegetables (peas, carrots, corn) – you can choose not to include them.
Regarding the Dumplings:
1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough, which weighs 16.3 ounces, or homemade biscuit dough if you prefer.
1/2 cup of flour for covering the biscuit dough.
Directions:
Get the chicken ready:
Put the chopped onion and crushed garlic at the bottom of your slow cooker. Place the chicken breasts over the onions and garlic. Add thyme, parsley, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Include the liquids.
Pour the chicken broth and creamy chicken soup on top of the chicken. Gently mix the liquids, making sure the chicken is mostly covered.
Chef:
Place a lid on the pot and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is soft and can be easily pulled apart.
Cut the chicken into small pieces.
Once the cooking is finished, take out the chicken from the slow cooker, pull it apart using two forks, and put it back in the slow cooker. Include the frozen vegetables (if you are using them) and mix them well.
Make the dumplings:
Open the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into 4-6 small pieces. Simplify the text: Open the dough for the biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4-6 small pieces. Cover the pieces with a thin layer of flour to keep them from sticking.
Put the dumplings in.
Put the pieces of biscuit dough into the slow cooker on top of the chicken mixture. Ensure they are spread out evenly to cook properly. Put the lid back on the slow cooker.
Make the dumplings.
Cook on high for one more hour until the biscuit dough is completely cooked and the dumplings are fluffy.
Wait on customers.
Put the chicken and dumplings in bowls and serve them hot. Add more parsley on top if you want.
Enjoy this delicious and comforting meal!
